FEBRUARY 2012

5th February 2012 It has been reported that on 15th March 2012, the Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) will be having its annual Gala, and they will be honouring Dito Montiel. Upon hearing this news Ray Liotta is quoted as saying "Dito is unlike most filmmakers of today. He has been impacted by the antiheroes and films from the 70's which are also favourites of mine. He is a terrific man who I thoroughly enjoyed working with and I congratulate him on this honour" (quote from broadwayworld). It would seem that "The Iceman" has completed filming, and "Into the Americas" is in the pre-production stage, could it be that Ray Liotta will soon be on set filming once again??? 3rd February 2012 "All Things Fall Apart" is still set to be released on DVD/Blu-ray in USA later this month (for exact date, please visit Diary page), and the film itself has been getting, and is still getting some great reviews. CEO of Red Sea Media, Roman Kopelevich has secured the international sales rights to Ray Liotta's film "Pawn", and it's being reported that he will talk with buyers as early as next week, I'll keep checking for any updates on the sale of this film, and will let you know here on Ray Liotta Connection. I've heard that "Wanderlust" is set to be shown in cinemas in New Orleans from 24th February 2012, though of course it is set to be released throughout America on that date. The films to be shown at the 12th Annual Film Comment Selects, at The Film Society of Lincoln Center has been released, "Wanderlust" is there, and is scheduled to be shown on Wednesday 22nd February 2012, there will be a post screening Q&A with some of the cast, however it is not showing Ray Liotta as going to be attending this event, I'll keep checking and let you know if that changes. 2nd February 2012 A trailer for Ray Liotta's film "Bad Karma" has been released, and I'm thrilled to be able to include it right here on Ray Liotta Connection, it looks like another awesome film from Ray!!!! I've also heard via my 'Ray-dar' that "Bad Karma" is set to be delivered to distributors in March 2012, so I'll keep checking for any release date announcements. 1st February 2012 The premiere of "Wanderlust" will take place on 16th February 2012 in Los Angeles (venue not released yet), and it is being reported that Ray Liotta could be at this too, and also at the after show party, I'll keep checking for confirmation on this, and I'll let you know right here on Ray Liotta Connection. Martin Scorsese was honoured at the Santa Barbara Festival on Monday, and a clip from "GoodFellas" featuring Ray Liotta was shown. I searched for hours yesterday to see if I could locate any photographs taken of Ray Liotta at the "SAG's", but sadly found none. Ray fans will remember back in 2004, Ray appeared on Broadway in "Match", I'm so thrilled to let you know that I've been able to locate a video which features a few clips from this, and yes our main man is on stage!!!! JANUARY 2012

30th January 2012 The BET Channel will be showing another of Ray Liotta's films "John Q" on 25th February 2012, and it is being stated that it will be a premiere on the channel. Showing TONIGHT at the BAM Rose Cinemas in Brooklyn, New York is Ray Liotta's iconic film "GoodFellas", please check local press for more details. I've heard via my 'Ray-dar' that Ray Liotta attended the 'Screen Actors Guild Awards' (SAG for short) yesterday, I've been searching for red carpet photographs featuring Ray, but as yet nothing, I'll not give up though and will keep checking!!!! I can confirm that Ray was not a host at the event, and it was held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. 29th January 2012 Ray Liotta's film "All Things Fall Apart" is set to be broadcast on the BET channel on Saturday, please check TV listings for times. I'm hearing via my 'Ray-dar' that Ray Liotta's film "Yellow" will initially be released in cinema's in America, but I'm still searching for the release dates, all I'm seeing at the moment is 2012. A new 'TV Spot' has been released for "Wanderlust", which is due to be in cinemas from next month in America, March in UK and various other countries (check Diary page), so I'm pleased to be able to include it on Ray Liotta Connection - can't wait to see Ray Liotta in this film. It's being reported that Ray was spotted in the audience of the new Cirque du Soleil show "Michael Jackson - The Immortal World Tour" last night, there is no confirmation this is correct, however I do know that it is showing in LA this weekend, so if the report is correct then I really hope he enjoyed the show!!!! I've heard that "Revolver" was available on Netflix yesterday, I've just been on to the site and yes it's still listed, so if you wanted to watch that on there, you can (netflix.com). 26th January 2012 First of all, THANKS EVER SO to every single person who visits Ray Liotta Connection, today this website has welcomed its 48,000th visitor, your support means so much and is greatly appreciated. The Radio Times has today published Barry Norman's '101 greatest films: Thrillers', and "GoodFellas" is listed. There's still talk going on about a possible "Narc 2", I'll keep checking for any further information on this, and let you know here on Ray Liotta Connection. It is still being reported that the film "Yellow", which stars Ray Liotta, will be released in 2012, as yet no actual set date has been announced, again I'll keep checking and let you know. Ray has been spotted out and about this week, and it wasn't in the Shreveport area, so it would seem that reports yesterday placing Ray in that area of filming for "The Iceman" were not correct. 25th January 2012 Launched TODAY: a new Fans Forum called "Ray Liotta Fans United", I hope that I will be able to welcome and chat with many of you on there. 22nd January 2012:TAKE TWO The "All Things Fall Apart" image that I included on here a few days ago would seem to be the artwork for the DVD that is due out next month in USA, happy to have found confirmation of what the artwork was for. Still staying with "All Things Fall Apart", I've found a film still that shows a Ray Liotta scene, and I'm thrilled to be able to include this on Ray Liotta Connection. 22nd January 2012 More 'Most Anticipated Films of 2012' lists are being published, and one of the films that keeps appearing is Ray Liotta's "Cogan's Trade", great to see. It would seem that the release date for "Cogan's Trade" in USA has now changed from the original March 2012 date, as yet no actual new date has been confirmed. However there are new release dates been announced for "Cogan's Trade" in other countries, and I've listed these in the Diary Section on Ray Liotta Connection. I've also found release dates for other countries regarding "Wanderlust", and again I've included these in the Diary Section. I'm hearing via my 'Ray-dar' that it would seem "Operation Dumbo Drop" was shown on television over in America yesterday, hope you managed to see it and sorry was not able to let you know sooner. Have you pre-ordered "All Things Fall Apart" and "The Son of No One" yet???? These films are set to be released on DVD in America next month (for actual release date please see Diary Section), as yet no release dates for other countries have been announced, but I'll keep checking and let you know here on Ray Liotta Connection if/when I find any. 20th January 2012 I've been able to find some artwork for "All Things Fall Apart", unable to confirm if this is the latest poster or going to be used for the cover of the DVD which is due to be released in USA next month, however I'm still thrilled to be able to include it on Ray Liotta Connection. There are numerous places on the Internet that are talking about "GoodFellas - the TV series", all are in agreement about one thing.... it's going to take some great actors to stop us comparing the ones in the TV series to the iconic performances of the original actors eg, Ray Liotta, got to agree with them. 18th January 2012 Further details have been released today regarding the possibility of "Narc 2"....Moviehole.net have been talking with Joe Carnahan earlier this week, and have been able to find out more about the possible "Narc 2". Joe Carnahan stated "I had dinner with Ray Liotta, and I told him the idea I had. Ray had called me, I guess he got inquiries that we were going to do something, there's nothing I won't work with Ray Liotta on because he's one of my favourites. I think we're both kind of anxious to jump back into it." He further went on to state that he thought of "Narc 2" as probably post the original film. However it would seem that if "Narc 2" is made, then Ray's role of Henry Oak would be the lead once again, I'll keep checking for further information and when I find any I will let you know here on Ray Liotta Connection. 17th January 2012 The sketch that Ray Liotta was part of, and the very same one that opened the Critics Choice Movie Awards on 12th January 2012 was called "The Future of CGI". 16th January 2012 THANKS ever so to every single person who visits Ray Liotta Connection, today this website has welcomed its 47,000th visitor, your support is overwhelming and is so very much appreciated. "All Things Fall Apart" will be shown on BET on Wednesday and Thursday this week over in America on television, American based Ray Liotta fans enjoy!!!! More sources have now stated that Ray and Karsen did attend the People's Choice Awards on 11th January 2012 which was held at the Nokia Theatre L.A Live, now as already mentioned the premiere of "The Grey", which Ray and Karsen attended also on 11th January 2012, took place at The Regency Cinemas L.A Live, so it is possible that he and his daughter could well have attended both events. 'Instyle' have quoted Ray as saying his greatest wish for Karsen is "to feel secure, and to feel she can do whatever she wants." Ray Liotta's film "John Q" was shown on television in Canada last night, sadly only just found out now (my thanks to Lynn for letting me know, it's appreciated). 15th January 2012 I have now transferred all the Ray news for November - December 2011 over to the Ray News Archives Section (link can be found at the top of this page). It is still being stated that Ray Liotta's film "Pawn" will be released in 2013, but as yet no actual dates have been announced, so I'll keep checking and let you know when they are. I have found another great photograph of Ray Liotta taken at the premiere of "The Grey", which took place on Wednesday 11th January 2012, and I'm thrilled to be able to include it on Ray Liotta Connection. Also found that the actual event itself took place at The Regency Cinemas L.A Live. I've heard via my 'Ray-dar' that both "Blow" and "GoodFellas" were shown on a film channel yesterday, I'm thinking it was in America so hope Ray Liotta fans were able to watch those, only just found out so sorry not able to let you know sooner. The Hannah Montana Annual 2012 is still available to buy from all good retailers, now the reason I'm mentioning this is that there is a photograph of Ray Liotta featured inside in his role as the headmaster of the school, how I know this is that I took a look in one yesterday and then promptly bought it - so buy it while you can. 13th January 2012 It is being reported today that Ray Liotta took part in a sketch for the Critics Choice Movie Awards, which took place last night (12th January 2012). It is being stated that the show started with a sketch, which featured the two hosts as 'inanimate object actors', and big name actors such as Ray Liotta and Michael Bay among others became directors pushing Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer to the limit. I have not been able to locate any photographs of Ray from last night, so it's unclear if Ray actually attended the awards or not, as it would seem that the sketch was possibly filmed, as here in the UK there is no footage for me to check for certain. I do know that the awards were broadcast live on VH1 last night, and it was held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, and that it will be broadcast again today on the VH1 channel. Now I've heard on my 'Ray-dar' that Ray and Karsen attended the People's Choice Awards on 11th January 2012 too, I'll keep looking for confirmation on that one. I've been able to locate two videos which are from the premiere of "The Grey", which as already mentioned on here took place on 11th January 2012, and I'm thrilled to be able to include them on Ray Liotta Connection, got to say my heart goes out to Ray and Karsen in the second video, when you've watched it you'll see why. 12th January 2012 More details have emerged today regarding the "GoodFellas" TV series, it is being stated that it will focus on the early years of Henry Hill, again it would seem that NONE of the cast of the original film will be in this TV series, but I'll keep checking. I can however confirm that the TV series has been given the 'green light' to go ahead. More sources are confirming that a sequel to "Narc" could happen, again I'll keep checking for any further developments on this and let you know here on Ray Liotta Connection. Whatculture.com have named "Narc" number 2 in their list of Classics. It has been announced today that director Joe Carnahan will appear in person on Saturday at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, CA to not only show a sneak preview of his latest thriller, but also to celebrate its 10th Anniversary Ray Liotta's film "Narc" will be shown on the night too - it will start at 7:30pm but please see local press for more details on this event, though I can confirm at this moment there is no mention that Ray Liotta will be attending the event. Ray Liotta attended the premiere of the new film "The Grey" last night, which was a red carpet event held in Los Angeles, California. 10th January 2012 A TV adaptation of the iconic film "GoodFellas" has been in the works for a while now, and it's now being reported that AMC is to become the home of this series. It's also being reported that the series is still being written, it will be developed by AMC and Warner Bros, but as already mentioned many months ago on here, it is thought that the series will be a prequel, so it will focus on the early years. There is NO mention of any of the original cast, in other words Ray Liotta, being attached to this "GoodFellas" TV series, but I will keep checking for the latest. Today more information has been released regarding the possibility of there being a "Narc 2", which I of course mentioned on here yesterday, it would seem that the actual quote that Joe Carnahan did was...."I talked to Ray Liotta the other night about a Narc sequel. I told him the opening...if I could do that film for like $10 million and not be bothered and left to do my own thing I would do it in a second. Creative control is more important to me than having my name in a big production" (quote taken from interview by Moviehole.net), let's hope the right 'deal' can be found, Ray Liotta is up for being in it and "Narc 2" is filmed, again I'll keep checking for the latest on this and let you know right here on Ray Liotta Connection. It is worth noting that the original film "Narc" made $12 million at the International Box Office, which was a great return on a film that was eventually made for $6.5 million. 9th January 2012 TODAY: Joe Carnahan has been quoted as saying that just a few days ago he's been talking to Ray Liotta about the possibility of a "Narc 2", and both Ray and Joe have agreed that if they can find a way of doing it cheaply enough, for example without any studio interfering, then it could happen, GREAT news if it comes to be (quote from Joe Carnahan on bleedingcool.com)!!!! Still staying with "Narc 2", it goes without saying that if this does go ahead, it certainly won't be right away if everything 'falls into place' and it's given the go ahead but I'll keep checking and let you know here on Ray Liotta Connection if I hear anything further about this. It's been announced TODAY that the soundtrack for Ray Liotta's film "The Place Beyond the Pines" will be written by Mike Patton, who has worked with Faith No More, etc. With details that just a few days ago Ray was in discussions about a possible "Narc 2", and the fact that he's been spotted out and about on home ground, it is looking like he has completed his scenes for "The Iceman", I'll keep checking for confirmation of that. 8th January 2012 Ray Liotta's film "The River Murders" was shown on Channel 101 last night, and it is set to be shown again on the same channel tonight, so Ray Liotta fans based in Canada....enjoy!!!! 6th January 2012 Tonight on Flix at 10:15pm Narc is to be broadcast. 5th January 2012 I'm thrilled to have found, and to be able to include, another film still from "Snowmen", as you can see it is from one of Ray's scenes. Still staying with "Snowmen", another reviewer has stated that "this film is so heartwarming." It's been reported today that the film "Beneath the Darkness" could possibly have been another Ray Liotta film project, but in the end it wasn't. 4th January 2012 A new theatrical trailer has been released for "All Things Fall Apart", and I'm thrilled to be able to include it on Ray Liotta Connection. The first trailer for "All Things Fall Apart", which was at the time known as "Things Fall Apart" can hopefully be found in the Ray News Archives Section on Ray Liotta Connection, as this was added a while ago but hopefully the video will still be available to watch, if you're interested in seeing the first one, and of course you can see the latest one below. It's been reported that ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) will be paying tribute to the great Jim Henson this month, and after the screening of a documentary, "Muppets from Space" will be shown, and as we all know Ray Liotta can be seen in this film, and screenings will be at 10:30am and 1pm, so Ray Liotta fans based in Australia please check local press for more details. Good comments are coming out about the film "Wanderlust" which is due to open in cinemas next month in USA, and opening in UK from March. A list has been published about the most anticipated films of 2012, and Ray Liotta's film "Cogan's Trade" is one of them, great to see!!!! There has been a review for Ray Liotta's film "Ticket Out" published, in which it states "if all 'exit tickets' were like this one, life would have been a lot more exciting. It's a family drama.", so with a review being released does this mean that this film might finally get released worldwide, I'll keep checking and let you know if I find anything out. 2nd January 2012 HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!!! "All Things Fall Apart", a film that Ray Liotta starred in is to be shown on BET at 9:30pm this week, I'm thinking that it will be shown all this week but check your TV listings in America for confirmation of that please. It has been reported that while Ray was filming "The Place Beyond the Pines" he was followed around town by fans. There's a photograph been released of Ray Liotta in his role of Roy Demeo in his latest film project "The Iceman" which was taken a few weeks ago now, and I'm thrilled to be able to include it on Ray Liotta Connection (my thanks to Bjoern for letting me know, it's appreciated by me). With this photograph showing Ray well and truly on set filming scenes for "The Iceman" before Christmas, does this mean he's completed all his scenes for this film or will he be going back to do more....I'm checking daily to find that out!!!!
