This part of Ray Liotta Connection allows you to read some “old” news that featured on the Ray News part of this website previously. FEBRUARY 2011 24th February 2011 It has been reported today, that filming has started today for "Cogan's Trade", and as previously mentioned on Ray Liotta Connection it will be all filmed in the New Orleans area. It is also being reported that Ray Liotta is on set filming alongside Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem. It is further being reported that the Second Line Studios will be the film's 'home base'. I will keep looking for more information, and of course any photographs of Ray that may appear from the set, and will try my best to include them on here. I check on a daily basis to bring you the latest on Mr Ray Liotta, so please keep checking back here often. 21st February 2011 I've been hearing that Ray Liotta has been filming a new film recently, however nothing has appeared on my Ray-dar that actually gives me any further information about that but will keep looking, and as you are all aware I do check on a daily basis. The only new films coming up on my Ray-dar at this moment have been "Savage Innocent" and "Cogan's Trade". Done extensive research to see if I could locate either of the films filming schedules, nothing have I found for "Savage Innocent", but I have found the reported start date for "Cogan's Trade". It's being reported that steps are being put in place from today for the filming of "Cogan's Trade" to start, and filming is scheduled to commence from March 2011, and it's further being stated that it will be filmed entirely in the New Orleans area. I check on a daily basis to bring you the latest on Mr Ray Liotta, so please keep checking back here often. 16th February 2011:TAKE TWO....later in the day Further to the great news that I added earlier today, I'm just so pleased to have been able to bring you this great news within minutes of the announcement in America about Ray being in the new film "Cogan's Trade." I've been researching everywhere to see if I could find any further information about this film, and here it is.... It is being reported that filming of "Cogan's Trade" will begin later this month and it's hoped that it will be released in cinemas in the early part of 2012. It would seem that filming will take place in New Orleans. There is talk that the character that Ray Liotta will be playing in this film could turn out to be a big role (here's hoping for him). The DVD and Blu-Ray will be released on 10th May 2011, but it's looking that it is just USA at the moment, though I will keep checking to see if the DVD and/or Blu-Ray will be released in other countries too, will let you know. I've been able to find the artwork for the DVD and you can see that below. Also been able to find out what bonus features the DVD or Blu-Ray will include: original trailer for the film, and new restored digital transfer. © Criterion 14th February 2011 First of all thanks so much to every single person who visits this website in the past, present and future, Ray Liotta Connection has today welcomed its 19,000th visitor in under 11 months since its launch in March last year, I'm so grateful. As previously mentioned on Ray Liotta Connection, there was a rumour going round that "Something Wild" was being released on DVD again, well I can now confirm that it has been announced today, that the film that gave Ray his first starring role, will be released once more on DVD as part of the Criterion May lineup. It is being reported that on the DVD along with the film will be a few interviews and the film trailer, I will keep checking for anymore details on that release, and where you will be able to buy it, etc. The Sixth Beloit International Film Festival starts this Thursday and continues right through until Sunday. One of the highlights of this Film Festival will be the showing of "Snowmen", another great Ray Liotta film. The film is scheduled to be shown on Thursday 17th February 2011 at Beloit Library, Saturday 19th February 2011 at Bushel & Pecks and on Sunday 20th February 2011 at Rotary River Center. There is no mention yet if Ray Liotta will be attending this Film Festival. I have also been able to locate a promotional photograph from the film, and yes you can see that below. 10th February 2011 Finally some film stills from the film "Things Fall Apart", that of course features Ray Liotta in it, and yes there is a film still that's been released that shows Ray in character, and another yes I'm happy to be able to include the photo on here, and you can see it below - enjoy!!!! There is a rumour that I've heard about the possible release of "Something Wild" on DVD again, which will be great for Ray Liotta fans who have been unable to get hold of a copy of the original release, indeed this is the film that Ray had his first major role in, nothing confirmed about the release, but I will keep checking and anything I find out I will let you know. Also more news about Ray Liotta's film "The Entitled", it is being reported that this film is due to be released later this year, no exact date yet but will let you know when I know of one. 8th February 2011 "Charlie St. Cloud" DVD/Blu-Ray was released on sale in the UK yesterday, UK based Ray Liotta fans enjoy!!!! I'm still hearing that "Savage Innocent" is due to start filming in the Spring of this year, but as yet no filming schedules have I been able to find, so will keep checking for anything further about this film. Been able to trace yet another photograph of Ray Liotta from the Sundance Film Festival, and I'm happy to include it below - enjoy!!!! © George Pimentel/Wire Image 4th February 2011 Ray Liotta's film "Things Fall Apart" will be shown at the Uptown Film Festival, which is a brand new film event that is focused on Michigan films and Michigan filmmakers, and it will start on 11th March 2011 and end on 12th March 2011 in Michigan. A screening of Ray's film "Things Fall Apart" is scheduled to take place on 12th March 2011 at Birmingham's Palladium, Michigan, there is no mention at this moment if Ray will be attending this or not, so will keep checking and let you know. The world premiere of "Things Fall Apart" will however take place on 5th March 2011 at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, will keep checking to see if Ray Liotta will be attending that. Further information: according to another source it is due to start filming this Spring, so I've added "Savage Innocent" back in Filmography Section. Of course, this film has had its filming schedule pushed back a few times so hopefully this information is correct, and filming will eventually start, of course I will keep checking on this and let you know what I find out. It is further reported that the deal includes a commitment that this film is released in at least 10 of top 20 markets, and cinema release date is probably going to be later this year, so of course I will keep looking, and let you know when I know of any actual release dates/countries. Still staying with the film "The Son of No One", it's being reported by a number of sources that there is talk that a violent rooftop standoff scene might be recut, only time will tell if that proves to be correct or not. © Unknown JANUARY 2011 31st January 2011 Great news - the Sundance Film Festival Awards, and more to the point Ray Liotta, can still be watched by clicking on the link I added yesterday, I hope more of you will be able to watch it. Sadly the footage of Ray on the TimesTalks panel, which as already mentioned took place on Wednesday last week, it would seem that the 1 hour 30 minutes version has been removed, so the link I included last week is no longer valid, hope many of you were able to sit and enjoy that, Ray I felt came across so, so well and he's such a "funny guy." Will keep checking to see if I can find the full version again and I will let you know on here, for now there is a short clip from it which I managed to include last week too. The Sundance Film Festival ended yesterday but I will keep checking to see if any further footage or photographs of Ray appear, and then of course I will do my very best to include them on Ray Liotta Connection for you all to enjoy. It is being reported that "The Son of No One" will be released sometime this year, so here's hoping. Ray Liotta, along with other cast members Channing Tatum and Katie Holmes attended a dinner celebrating the world premiere of their film "The Son of No One", and it's been reported that they all sat together. Still keeping with "The Son of No One", on its world premiere, several members of the cast, including Ray Liotta took to the stage for a question and answer session, and yes I've managed to find a photograph from that, along with a video of that too, and you can see them below - enjoy!!!! 27th January 2011 Well Ray Liotta was asked and participated in a Live@Sundance panel and I've found the footage from that, I just hope they keep it on the website for long enough that many of you see it....you can find the link below. Netflix is now showing "Forever Mine", another great Ray Liotta film. Ign have reported that Street Kings 2 will be released on DVD/Blu-Ray in the US on 19th April 2011, so the rumours that it would go straight to DVD were true, no other country release dates yet, but of course I will keep checking and let you know. It would seem that "The Details" is a real hit at Sundance, which is great to hear, well done to Ray and all the cast/crew. Enjoy the footage of Ray (click on link below). © Unknown 26th January 2011 It has been reported today that the rights to Ray Liotta's film "The Details" have been bought for a stated $8 million by The Weinstein Company, so here's hoping that this film has a worldwide release - will keep checking on that and let you know as and when details are released. Ray Liotta's other film getting its world premiere on Friday is "The Son of No One", and it's being reported that there are already 3 buyers for it - again let's hope this film has a worldwide release, will keep checking and let you know. "The Son of No One" has been called "a gritty crime drama." Ray Liotta has also seen the film for the first time at the Sundance Film Festival, but it would seem he attended a screening before the preview night. No 'standing ovation' for the film from those who attended the preview last night, but it has been stated that many executives at the preview were ready to make money offers to buy the film. The first review for "The Details" has literally just been published and it states: "This black comedy is really a tour de force, there are also great supporting turns by Dennis Haysbert, Ray Liotta and Kerry Washington" (review quotes taken from showbiz411.com). Just found out that Ray Liotta, along with other members of the cast of the film "The Details" attended the world premiere last night at the Sundance Film Festival, and the film is scheduled to be shown again today. The LA Times has been talking to Ray Liotta ahead of the world premiere of not one, but two of his films. I've now seen confirmation that Ray Liotta will be attending the Sundance Film Festival, hope he has a great time and the world premiere of both "The Details" and "The Son of No One" are both a success, I'm sure they will be. I will keep a lookout for any photos of Ray that may be released from the festival. 20th January 2011 The 28th Miami International Film Festival opens on 4th March and ends on 13th March, and one of the films listed to be shown is a Ray Liotta one, "Things Fall Apart" will have its world premiere at this International Film Festival. The Sundance Film Festival started today, and there is a buzz about a few of the films that are going to be shown, two of the films causing a buzz are "The Details" and "The Son of No One" - both Ray Liotta films. It is still unclear if Ray Liotta will be attending the Sundance Film Festival. Also it's worth noting that both the films are marked as being priority targets for major buyers. © Unknown 19th January 2011 The Sundance Film Festival opens tomorrow (Thursday 20th January 2011), and two of Ray's films will have their world premieres there. As previously mentioned on Ray Liotta Connection they are "The Details", which will have its world premiere on Monday 24th January 2011, and be shown again on Tuesday 25th January 2011. "The Son of No One" will have its world premiere on Friday 28th January 2011, and is also scheduled to be shown on Saturday 29th January 2011 too. On 1st February 2011 "The Las Vegas Mob Experience" exhibition/museum/attraction opens its doors in Tropicana, a Vegas casino/hotel in Las Vegas. Modern technology will merge mobsters from the past with the celebrities that played them in films, and yes Ray Liotta is one of them, and as Henry Hill he will be seen on film and audio there. There will be over 1,000 items on display too. Visitors basic details will be gathered at the start of the exhibition using radio frequency indentification so that the mobster holograms will address them directly throughout the attraction by name. Visitors to this exhibition will be able to choose a celebrity "mob" guide to direct them through the 32 rooms. The first film still from "Wanderlust" has been released, not featured on here though as no Ray Liotta in photograph, but will check to see if any others are released that do have him in them. The 2011 Tallahassee Film Festival will pay tribute to Ray Liotta's film "Something Wild", which was filmed in the area back in the Spring of 1985. The tribute will take place on the film's 25th anniversary, which is 6th April 2011 and many local talent contributed to the film. The festival committee is hoping to invite some of the cast and crew of "Somthing Wild", and host discussions in conjunction with a special screening. Will Ray Liotta be one of the cast invited to attend???? Well at this moment nothing has been mentioned, but as always I'll keep checking and let you know when I know. An all access pass to the festival is $25 each, and the festival itself starts on 6th April and ends on 10th April in Tallahassee, USA.
